Smallest hawk, found in open wooded land, city parks even rural neighbourhoods, Best place to photograph it is in hawk migration watch spots. Active all day as it fly low within trees. Tough to photograph since it stays within tree hiding and watching for small bird prey, usually seen flying away, Not very shy as long as stays hidden, once spotted, it may fly quickly., Raptors usually do not respond to calls.
